Day 1: The Early Years (Late 1800s – 1919) Activity 2: The Right to Vote

On your blog tell us what you think about the fact that women were not allowed to vote in Saudi Arabia until 2015.

I think It was a silly idea that women weren't allowed to vote, I also think it was unfair to all the women that wanted to vote but  couldn't. I'm happy now that every one of age can vote in Saudi Arabia. When researching I came across this: '
Abdullah of Saudi Arabia granted women the right to vote in 2011 for the local vote. Then it was in 2015 Saudi Arabia allowed women to vote in the General Elections'.

On 19 September 1893 lord Glasgow signed a new Electoral Act to allow women to vote in New Zealand, I was surprised that there was a time when women couldn't vote.

    1. Kia Ora Nikoli,

Great work! I can tell that you have put a lot of work into this post, and done some research to support your answer. Well done!

I also think it is surprising that there was a time (not too long ago) that women were not allowed to vote. I agree that it is unfair. I think that all citizens of a country should be treated equally, and be able to have a say in how the country where they live is run.

I hope that you have enjoyed the Summer Learning Journey!
