Day 5: The Dawn of a New Era Activity 1: Translating Phrases

Use google translate to translate the following five phrases from English to Te Reo Maori or from Te Reo Maori to English. Post the translate on your blog.

  1. (Maori)Nau Mai ki Aotearoa (English)welcome to New Zealand
  2. (English)_____ is my name              (Maori) Ko Toku ingoa
  3. (English) What is your name            (Maori) he aha to ingoa
  4. (Maori) He pai taku ki te takaro i te whutupaoro.          (English) I like to play the whutupaoro
  5. ( English) Where do you come from?       (Maori) No hea koe
(Whutupaoro did not  translate it means football)

    Well done for operating Google Translate and for translating these Te Reo Māori phrases in to English. It's a fun tool, isn't it? I sometimes like playing around on it just to see what the translations go in to if I continue to just switch them around.

    Speaking of language, can you speak another language other than English?
